ConvaTec, a developer of wound care devices , has launched Aquacel foam dressing to meet wound management challenges.
Aquacel foam dressing features a soft absorbent foam pad with the healing benefits of the company’s proprietary Aquacel interface for use in the management of wounds.
Aquacel interface gel is designed to gel on contact with wound exudate, which allows the dressing to micro-contour to the wound bed, minimizes dead space where bacteria can grow.
Duke University Hospital wound management clinic spokesperson Stephanie Yates said Aquacel dressing interface has the ability to lock in wound exudate and creates an environment for wound management.
"The dressing comes in a wide range of shapes and sizes, making it easier for clinicians to select an appropriate and conforming dressing for any wound quickly and conveniently," Yates added.
