Getinge Group has announced that it has been awarded a three-year contract from Vizient for Getinge Group's peripheral vascular products and accessories.

Under the terms of the multi-source provider agreement, Getinge Group will provide peripheral vascular products from its broad portfolio, which includes product lines from BIOTRONIK, INC. (BIOTRONIK) and ReFlow Medical Inc., to members of Vizient, the nation’s largest member-owned health care services company. The contract is effective from January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2019.

“With our recent U.S. distribution agreements with BIOTRONIK and ReFlow Medical, we now offer a broad portfolio of peripheral vascular products. This new contract with Vizient emphasizes the strength and breadth of that portfolio and will bring our best-in-class peripheral vascular products to a broader base of customers in the United States,” said Raoul Quintero, President of the Americas at Getinge Group.

“With this agreement, interventional and surgical teams at academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals and integrated health delivery networks throughout the country that are members of Vizient will have access to contracts that offer enhanced savings on critical products they need to best meet the needs of their patients.”

Getinge Group offers a full line of technically-advanced, high-quality peripheral vascular products, including extendable tip and shapeable support catheters, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) balloons, self-expanding stents and introducer sheaths, designed for interventional procedures performed within the cath lab.

Additionally, Getinge Group’s extensive peripheral vascular device portfolio includes a full line of vascular grafts and patches, which have been implanted in millions of patients worldwide. These include the FUSION BIOLINE, FLIXENE and HEMASHIELD family of vascular grafts and patches.

Getinge Group’s portfolio also includes BIOTRONIK’s peripheral vascular product line, which Getinge Group distributes in the United States.

BIOTRONIK’s devices to treat arterial disease include the Astron iliac self-expanding stent, a proven option for treating atherosclerotic disease of the common or external iliac arteries, the Passeo PTA balloon family, and the Fortress family of reinforced sheaths.

ReFlow Medical’s complete line of unique and highly differentiated catheters, which Getinge Group exclusively distributes in the United States, are also part of the peripheral vascular portfolio.

These include the Wingman Crossing Catheters (Wingman14, Wingman18, Wingman35), which have a unique extendable bevel tip and are used in conjunction with steerable guidewires to access discrete regions of the peripheral vasculature and enable rapid, routine, off-the-shelf lesion crossing, and the speX Shapeable Support Catheter, which has a shapeable tip option, the ability to retain its shape and allows physicians to reshape as needed in order to rapidly adjust to the specific needs of each case and each patient.
