Competitive Technologies has sold its Calmare Scrambler Therapy device to the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Jamaica Plain, MA.

The Scrambler device is used to treat brachial plexus pain and low back pain (LBP), chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), failed back surgery syndrome, intractable cancer pain, post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN), post-surgical pain and sciatic and lumbar pain.

CTTC executive vice president Aris Despo said the Calmare Scrambler Therapy device provides pain treatment efficacy through a non-invasive procedure, which treats pain without harmful side effects or the use of powerful and potentially addictive drugs.

"We believe this sale is the first of many as government physicians search for new and effective treatment methods to benefit their patients," Despo said.
