Reportedly, to be located two miles east of Interstate 35 in Kyle, the new health center will offer comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health and health education services for children and adults. The community health center, a 20,732 square-foot facility, will offer services on a sliding-fee scale to uninsured residents.
The $852,343 grant from St David’s Foundation will fund the construction of a dental wing at the new health center, where comprehensive dental care will be provided to patients of all ages.
Debbora Thompson, chief executive officer of CommuniCare Health Centers, said: “This grant will provide a state of-the-art dental facility that will enable CommuniCare to provide critically needed dental services to children, individuals and families in the Kyle area.
