Today, more than 1,80,000 deaf adults and children across the globe have acquired language and listening schools with implantable hearing technology, Salmon said.

The fifth-generation implant technolgy would cost Rs5.3-lakh (INR0.53 million) at the lower-end and Rs 9.50-lakh (INR0.95 million) at the higher-end, Cochlear’s Country Manager-India and Regional Head-South Asia, Rajiv Gatne, said.

The company will offer implant surgeries at 40 centres across the country. The company has successfully conducted 3,500 implant surgeries in the last 10-years in India, Gatne said.
