Tampa-based Coast Dental Services has acquired the assets of Dental Technology (SmileCare) and Community Dental Services, a California licensed health care service plan.
Dental Technology and its subsidiaries operate 57 SmileCare dental practices in California, Nevada and Texas.
SmileCare offers general dentistry, hygiene and specialty care, such as orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and pedodontics.
Coast Dental CEO Thomas Marler said the transaction creates a national presence for Coast Dental and strengthens their position as a leader in the dental industry.
"We are excited about the opportunity this gives our affiliated dental practices to deliver a better experience to a broader base of patients," Marler said.
