Celera Group (Celera) has appointed K. Scott Bland as vice president (VP) of sales at Berkeley HeartLab (BHL), effective January 14, 2009. Bland will report to Chris Hall, chief business officer of BHL. Bland has been a regional director of sales at BHL, providing oversight to sales activities in the southeast of the US for the last two years. Prior to joining BHL, Bland was a regional business advisor for Allergan Pharmaceuticals.

Bland also held various sales and management positions in cardiovascular disease with Kos Pharmaceuticals before the company was sold to Abbott.

Bland received his B.S. and his M.B.A. degrees from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.
