Carestream Health, Inc. (Carestream Health), a provider of medical and dental imaging systems and information technology solutions, has received a order for its RIS/PACS solution from Tufts Medical Center of Boston (Hospital). The hospital also contracted with Carestream Health's eHealth Managed Services (eMS) for remote disaster recovery.

The company said its RIS equips schedulers to view all clinical staff required when scheduling an exam (radiologist, technologist or nurse). It features a one-step tool that allows entry of an exam order when an exam and appointment are scheduled. The RIS also supports patient scheduling at multiple locations. Carestream RIS is also Microsoft .NET-connected to offer a thin-client platform. Carestream PACS delivers a virtual desktop with 3D applications, and includes a new PowerViewer that offers 3D capabilities to provide registration and matching of volumetric data created at different times and by different modalities directly within the standard viewer used by radiologists.

The company said its eMS provides remote back-up data storage to help healthcare providers comply with disaster recovery/business continuity regulations.
