Shipments of the New DRX-1 System, the first wireless, cassette-size digital radiography (DR) detector, are now underway. Healthcare organizations around the world began placing orders several months ago for the innovative CARESTREAM DRX-1 System, which is designed for general radiology, trauma, orthopedic and many other x-ray exams. Carestream Health, Inc., has orders from around the world and plans immediate shipments to customers in Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Sweden, United Kingdom and US.
“Customer response to our innovative wireless detector has been outstanding—and our manufacturing, distribution and support teams are in full swing,” said Diana L. Nole, President, Digital Medical Solutions, Carestream Health. “Healthcare providers are very interested in this system as it offers an extremely attractive option for facilities that want to improve productivity and image quality in existing film or CR rooms, but may not have funds available for larger scale equipment replacement.”
The DRX-1 system incorporates a console and a wireless, cassette-sized DR detector that provides a rapid, affordable conversion for users of radiographic film or computed radiography systems. It requires no modifications to existing analog equipment which results in very low installation costs and a healthcare facility can utilize one detector for many types of exams.
The DRX-1 system incorporates the same innovative software and image processing capability as Carestream Health’s CR and DR systems, and delivers the same excellent image quality and productivity as these proven platforms.
