Cardinal Health has entered into an agreement to distribute Polymedco's OC-Auto Micro 80; automated FIT analyzer; and OC-Sensor Diana, a high throughput automated FIT analyzer.

The automated FIT product is a fecal occult blood analyzer which aids in the early detection of colorectal cancer.

Unlike Guaiac tests, Polymedco tests require a single stool sample, have no dietary or medicinal restrictions, and have a completely closed sampling device.

The OC-FIT product line also has the capability to connect to the hospital laboratory information system, which can lead to an increase in workflow efficiencies, ease of physician access to medical records, and easy tracking of quality control data.

Polymedco president Drew Cervasio said they look forward to deliver the product to as many hospitals as possible and saving as many more lives with the help of the Cardinal Health organization.
