Cardinal Health and Cook Medical have entered into a two-year agreement to distribute Cook's central venous catheter (CVC) sets along with Cardinal's Presource customizable procedural kits in the US.

As per the agreement, Cardinal and Cook customers are now able to customize components of their CVC procedural kits.

The kits can incorporate either uncoated or Cook Spectrum CVC sets, which feature the industry’s highest flow rates and a comprehensive product line including power-injectable catheters.

Cook Medical Critical Care and Interventional Radiology divisions vice president and business unit leader Dan Sirota said they are thrilled to partner with Cardinal Health to expand access to its CVC sets for vascular access professionals.

"We remain committed to provide solutions that streamline processes for clinicians and empower them to provide top-quality patient care," Sirota said.

Cook Medical said its spectrum catheters are impregnated with the antibiotics minocycline and rifampin and for reduces catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs)and also meets the newly released 1A recommendation from the CDC.
