The College of American Pathologists' (CAP) accreditation committee has certified Almac's Diagnostics Laboratory's Craigavon, UK facilities.

In the CAP accreditation process, inspectors have examined the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years.

They also examined laboratory equipment, facilities, safety program and record, staff qualifications, along with the overall management of the lab.

Based on the results of a recent onsite inspection, Almac’s Laboratory facilities met the highest standard of care.

Almac president and Managing Director Paul Harkin said this accreditation allows them to further support their clients by running clinical diagnostic tests for trial enrichment.

"This is of increasing importance to our clients and constitutes an important part of our biomarker services," Harkin said.
