LMI Technologies has selected Canfield Scientific as the exclusive worldwide distributor for its Primos family of 3D optical systems.

The deal immediately allows Canfield to become the sole supplier of Primos systems, which provides surface skin imaging for clinical research in-vivo measurement.

The product portfolio includes Primos lite and Primos premium that are used for the analysis of effectiveness of cosmetic products and medical active ingredients.

According to Canfield, optical in-vivo measurements with Primos provide an effective solution for evaluating skin roughness and smoothness, including line and surface roughness.

Primos can also be used in other applications such as measuring facial wrinkles, scars and wounds, acne, lips, and cellulite.

Canfield Scientific president and founder Doug Canfield said: "At Canfield, we’re helping the industry to identify and evaluate the most promising and effective product innovations.

"PRIMOS is the kind of high quality, proven solution our discriminating customers demand, making it the natural complement to our own imaging systems."

Canfield will distribute Primos product portfolio with its own family of research systems, including the Visia-CR, Vaestro Image Analysis Toolkit, Vectra 3D Imaging System and Lab Imaging System.
