Premier contract manufacturing company Cadence has announced the inauguration of its finished medical device facility in Cranberry, Pennsylvania, US, in the first quarter of 2013.

The 21,000ft² facility will include up to 10,000ft² of clean room space and 5,000ft² of office space.

Cadence president Alan Connor said started as a provider of highly-engineered specialty blades, the company has now evolved as a provider of complex components and sub-assemblies critical to the performance of a variety of medical devices.

"Medical device customers are looking to consolidate their supply chains around their most critical and trusted suppliers,"Connor added.

"The addition of finished device and sterilization management capabilities allows us to better serve our customers’ needs."

Cadence Pittsburgh facility vice president and general manager Marc Mabie said, "The Pittsburgh location has enabled us to put together an experienced and proven team from the medical device industry to expand Cadence’s business. We look forward to continued team growth in 2013."
