BSI Group America has granted ISO 13485:2003 certification to Polymicro Technologies' Phoenix, Arizona, US facility.
The facility includes optical fiber drawing, precision laser machining, high-power laser assemblies and an environmentally controlled Class 7 low bio-burden room.
The certification will enable Molex to take projects from prototype through volume production in order to better serve the medical community.
Polymicro Technologies general manager Jim Clarkin said, "Having this in place will provide our customers with a higher degree of confidence in our already well-established medical products expertise and will complement other capabilities within Molex."
Polymicro Technologies, a specialty fiber subsidiary of Molex, manufactures specialty optical fibers, capillary tubing, and completed fiber and capillary assemblies.
