Bay Ridge Medical Imaging (BMRI) is offering GE Healthcare's Discovery MR750w 3.0T1 scanner in the US.

The Discovery MR750w 3.0T features a larger 70cm patient ‘bore’ (the area where the person lies to be scanned), and a patient-friendly design to help lessen patient anxiety and stress during the scan.

BMRI said the system allows greater use of feet first scanning, but head first scanning remains a viable choice.

The Discovery MR750w 3.0T also includes a detachable table, equipped with comfort tilt to help better position the head and neck during brain and spinal exams, which helps in reducing patient movement and enhances image quality.

The scanner’s advanced RF signal reception system also comprises a new integrated, lighter weight, and higher performance RF coil architecture designed to facilitate image quality and examination speed.

BRMI medical director Shahrokh Abiri said this new GE Healthcare scanner is not only a sleek, ergonomically-friendly design, their patients feel more comfortable which means they are better able to lie still during the scan and as a result their Radiologists are more likely to get uncompromised quality images quickly.
