Wireless medical technology firm BioTelemetry has completed the acquisition of VirtualScopics for around $15m.

VirtualScopics provides clinical trial imaging solutions to its customers. Its solutions will help to accelerate drug and medical device development.

The company’s imaging solutions will be used in various therapeutic areas, including oncology, hematology, muscular disease, metabolic diseases and neuroscience.

BioTelemetry president and CEO Joseph Capper said: "The addition of VirtualScopics’ imaging capabilities expands our clinical research offerings and further demonstrates our commitment to growing this important portion of our business.

BioTelemetry offers cardiac monitoring services and original equipment manufacturing with a primary focus on cardiac monitoring devices and centralized cardiac core laboratory services.
