BioImagene, a provider of digital pathology solutions, has launched a suite of digital pathology solutions in Europe. The company is expected to present the digital pathology solutions at the Woche der Pathologie Congress in Berlin.

In the last year alone, BioImagene has introduced two new scanning systems the iScan Coreo AU and the iScan Concerto, as well as the next generation of its Virtuoso software with an expanded menu of Companion Algorithms for breast, prostate, colon, hematology, and gastrointestinal panels, a diagnostic workstation called Crescendo and an input device called the iSlide.

As part of the European expansion, BioImagene has appointed Giancarlo Migliore as director for European sales and opened an office in Milan, Italy. The new office will provide expert sales and service support to the company’s growing European customer base.

Mr Migliore said: “As part of our global expansion strategy, we have brought our combined expertise in image analysis and digital imaging to European pathology customers. Some of our products such as the iSlide are the first of its kind to be launched here.”

Ajit Singh, chief executive officer of BioImagene, said: “The long term potential for our solutions in Europe is enormous. European demand for digital pathology is at a tipping point, and given our successes in the US over the past year, we are poised to establish a leadership position in Europe.

“Our key differentiators include the most innovative solution portfolio and business model, as well as an extremely responsive support and service organization.”
