Italian device maker Biocommerciale has entered into an agreement to distribute Symmetry Surgical's comprehensive portfolio of surgical devices.
Under the agreement, Biocommerciale will distribute brands and products of Codman Surgical Instruments, SSi, and Olsen Medical, which were acquired by Symmetry Surgical.
Symmetry’s existing brands include Bookwalter, Greenberg, Riley, Olsen, Ultra, Quad-lock, Flashpak, RapidClean, Opti-Length, Classic and Classic Plus.
Symmetry Surgical chief operating officer Chris Huntington said the collaboration with Biocommerciale will expand the company’s growing global presence into Italy, giving medical professionals access to its portfolio of new surgical instruments.
"We look forward to driving growth in the Italian market from our existing brands, as well as innovations resulting from our focus on new medical devices and services that benefit surgeons and clinicians — and their patients – worldwide," Huntington added.
In addition to surgical devices, Biocommerciale distributes sterile processing and operating room supplies to hospitals, clinics and medical facilities.
