Medical technology company Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) has completed the acquisition of California-based Safety Syringes.
The acquisition is expected to expand BD’s healthcare worker safety offering as Safety Syringes develops anti-needlestick devices for prefilled syringes.
BD Medical – Pharmaceutical Systems president Claude Dartiguelongue said the Safety Syringes product line aligns well with the company’s focus on healthcare worker safety, and offering higher-value products.
"We are excited about this acquisition, which expands the Company’s presence in safety technologies and further demonstrates BD’s commitment to developing innovative solutions that help address our customers’ unmet needs," Dartiguelongue added.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
