American Shared Hospital Services (ASHS), a provider of radiosurgical and radiation therapy services, has been awarded a contract to supply its Gamma Knife Perfexion system to St Vincent's Medical Center (SVMC) in Jacksonville, Florida.

SVMC is a non-profit health system which is a part of St Vincent’s HealthCare and Ascension Health.

Gamma Knife Radiosurgery equipment is a non-invasive treatment for malignant and benign brain tumors, vascular malformations and trigeminal neuralgia (facial pain).

St Vincent’s HealthCare Strategic Planning & Marketing system vice president David Meyer said the new Perfexion system refines and expands the therapeutic potential for radiosurgery procedures in the brain, cervical spine and head and neck regions.
