Roundtable Healthcare Partners' portfolio company Argon Medical Devices has acquired Promex Technologies (US Biopsy), for an undisclosed amount.

Promex manufactures soft-tissue biopsy products, including Transjugular Liver Biopsy Instrument (TLAB).

As part of the deal, Argon will acquire US Biopsy’s disposable and reusable soft-tissue biopsy instruments, breast localization needles, and fine-needle aspiration needles.

Argon Medical Devices president George Leondis said that US Biopsy has been active in the transjugular liver biopsy market since the procedure was first pioneered in the 1990s.

"This unique experience was integral in designing TLAB with differentiated features that improve upon existing technologies," Leondis added.

TLAB has been developed with patented Flexcore technology, which allows the needle to flex to acute angles and still function consistently.

TLAB’s Flexcore technology and sharp Tru-Track trocar needle tip allow the needle to enter tough liver tissue without diving or deviating from the track, said Argon.

Argon produces medical products and devices for interventional radiology, vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, critical care, and oncology procedures.

The firm’s product portfolio includes Option ELITE retrievable IVC Filter, CLEANERXT and CLEANER15 Rotational Thrombectomy Systems and others.
