Allied Healthcare Products has introduced Litholyme, a new premium carbon dioxide absorbent, that provides enhanced patient safety over conventional absorbents in anesthesia procedures.
Jack Dabrowski, senior product manager of Allied Healthcare, said: “Litholyme features a patented formulation that eliminates the safety issues commonly associated with conventional carbon dioxide absorbents, yet it has been developed in such a manner that it can be offered at a similar price to conventional or non-premium absorbents.
“Other premium carbon dioxide absorbents that exist in the market also provide increased safety but are much more costly than conventional absorbents, limiting their adoption in hospitals. We expect that Litholyme’s balance of performance, safety and cost will broaden the use of this safer formulation.”
