Align Technology has introduced several new software solutions to advance digital practice and has opened a new customer education and training centre in Toronto, Canada.
The US-based orthodontics company introduced Align Oral Health Suite, an intuitive digital interface to enhance dental consultations and dental treatment acceptance.
It integrates the iTero diagnostic tools, such as iTero NIRI, iTero Occlusogram, iTero TimeLapse and Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro into a single interface.
Align introduced a new SmartForce feature, attachment-free aligner activation, to reduce the number of attachments while maintaining predictable treatment outcomes.
The company rolled out a new doctor-enabled direct ship-to-patient feature on its Vivera Retainer Subscription (VRS) platform, to help doctors directly send retainers to their patients.
It has introduced Plan Editor in ClinCheck treatment planning software, a new solution in the Align digital workflow, built into the Align Digital Platform.
Align Digital Platform is an integrated suite of unique technologies and services for patients and consumers, orthodontists and GP dentists, and lab partners.
Align Asia Pacific chief product and marketing office executive vice president and managing director Raj Pudipeddi said: “Align Technology is transforming orthodontic treatment planning with next-generation tools and customised treatment plans based on years of research and intelligence from millions of patients treated with the Invisalign System.
“Our goal is to enable more control for doctors so that they can efficiently design the best treatment plans for their patients. Plan Editor is one more step in this direction, as it builds on the Live Update with 3D controls feature and enables doctors to quickly change more aspects of the treatment plan and see the effects almost immediately.”
Align also rolled out its Invisalign Palatal Expander System, an advanced direct 3D printed device designed based on a unique and patented technology.
The Invisalign Palatal Expanders are intended for use in rapid expansion and holding the upper jaw with primary, mixed, or permanent dentition during the treatment of patients.
The company’s new education and training centre in Canada will provide training about Invisalign clear aligners, iTero scanners and the Align Digital Platform for Align customers.
In a separate development, Align Technology has agreed to acquire Austria-based direct 3D printing solutions provider Cubicure for a purchase price of around €79m.
Cubicure is engaged in developing, producing, and distributing advanced materials, equipment, and processes for novel 3D printing solutions.
Its patented Hot Lithography technology leverages a special heating and coating mechanism that enables the production of tough and temperature-resistant polymers.
This high-precision 3D printing process facilitates the unprecedented additive manufacturing of resilient components with an astonishing first-of-its-kind material quality performance.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in Q4 2023 or early 2024, subject to customary closing adjustments and adjustments for Align’s existing ownership of capital stock of Cubicure.
