Align Technology has launched a chair-side intra-oral scanning application for use in patients with malocclusion or the misalignment of teeth.
The tool, Invisalign Outcome Simulator, provides patient with a dual view layout which shows a prospective image of his/her own current dentition next to his/her simulated final position of how the teeth will look after Invisalign treatment.
In addition, the tool allows dentists and orthodontists to make real-time adjustments to individual’s teeth during consultations, which will increase patient education and the likelihood of patient acceptance.
Align Technology vice president Greg Morrow said, "The Invisalign Outcome Simulator is an exciting new chair-side tool, available for current iTero and iOC scanners as well as the newly announced iTero, that doctors can use to reveal a customized potential Invisalign outcome thereby engendering more Invisalign treatment choices for patients."
