The combined applications will bring enhanced context and decision support capabilities to the AirStrip ONE solution to augment near real-time mobile data exchange in hospital labor and delivery departments. The tools enable OB clinicians to diagnose and treat evolving conditions faster and more effectively.
The agreement integrates PeriGen’s PeriCALM Patterns with AirStrip ONE to mobilize assessments and interpretations of fetal heart rate patterns, employing long-term and detailed views of waveform tracings, and evidence-based analysis and statistical data.
AirStrip CEO Alan Portela said that this collaboration supports AirStrip’s development of a comprehensive maternal-fetal mobility solution that monitors high-risk pregnancies from any location when medically necessary, from the home to the hospital to aftercare.
"OB clinicians will benefit from the delivery of higher quality care while having the ability to better mitigate the risks associated with childbirth. This enriched care coordination can also help hospitals realize potential savings through the reduced length of inpatient stays," Portela added.
The AirStrip and PeriGen agreement is the latest in a series of business development and partnership announcements from AirStrip this year to further strengthen the company’s comprehensive solutions.
In March 2014, AirStrip acquired the assets of Sense4Baby, wireless fetal/maternal monitoring system. AirStrip also announced agreements with Texas Health Resources and RegionalCare Hospital Partners, and launched the AirStrip Innovation Marketplace (AIM), along with the first AIM collaborations with the University of Michigan Center for Integrative Research in Critical Care and MedStar Health.
