Israeli health technology firm Aidoc has teamed up with Singapore-based Us2.ai to integrate the latter’s AI algorithm into its operating system, aiOS.

The FDA-approved and CE-marked AI algorithm is designed to analyse and interpret echocardiograms (echo).

Aidoc said that its operating system can coordinate multiple, independent, AI algorithms across the native workflows of different specialities.

With the addition of the Us2.ai algorithm, aiOS can deliver a completely automated and standardised echo report to sonographers and cardiologists, said Aidoc.

Us2.ai business development head Seth Koeppel said: “It’s clear hospitals and health systems see significant value in orchestrating AI from a single, trusted partner.

“Full automation for the analysis of echocardiography brings a long overdue technology upgrade to this modality. We believe this partnership with Aidoc will enhance the speed at which hospitals can realise ROI from AI solutions.”

Aidoc said that its aiOS can run several AI solutions on a single patient and distribute the AI results to the concerned physicians across their native workflows.

It can coordinate algorithms to automatically assess each scan for multiple pathologies at the same time, as it always runs in the background.

Also, it can integrate with electronic health records (EHR) to provide a holistic view of the patient and provide real-time data to appropriate teams.

The operating system is said to help clinicians easily work on both acute and chronic findings through its ecosystem of AI solutions and allows initiation of care management.

Us2.ai has designed its Echo AI algorithm to automatically search for optimal images and take standardised measurements of the heart within a few minutes.

Aidoc said that the echo algorithm will complement its growing cardiovascular platform.

The platform includes both AI and care solutions for several pathologies, including pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, aortic dissection, and aortic aneurysm.

Aidoc CEO Elad Walach said: “Our partnership with Us2.ai allows our health system partners to further expand the clinical value of AI to cardiac care. Health systems cannot work with thousands of AI point solutions for each service line.

“Our aiOS allows health systems to think strategically about AI and build an end-to-end intelligence layer across the health system.”
