The new 1290 Infinity II Vialsampler is claimed to shorten injection cycles, lower carryover and enlarge sample capacity-at a pressure range of up to 1300 bar.

This is capable of integrating a column oven and a sample cooler, while offering ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC) to analytical laboratories.

Agilent Liquid Chromatography Products Group vice-president and general manager Dr Stefan Schuette said: "With this new offering, labs can more easily move from HPLC to UHPLC methods for higher resolution and faster separations.

"This new module enables them to enter the highest-performance class at an affordable price."

The new sampler is the second of its type for 1290 Infinity II LC, which is the company’s top-of-the-line system.

Agilent employs over 12,000 people in more than 100 countries, providing instruments, software, services and consumables for the entire laboratory workflow.

The company generated $4bn in revenues for the fiscal 2014.
