The AggreGuide, a patented, laser-light scattering platelet aggregometer, is designed to analyze patient’s platelet responsiveness and the effect of his anti-platelet medication.
Aggredyne chairman and CEO Edward Teitel said the AggreGuide A-100 system is important because it will help doctors optimize their patients’ anti-platelet therapy that is used to prevent heart attacks, strokes, and stent occlusions.
"The device provides physician’s offices, hospitals, and clinics an easy, inexpensive way to monitor the effectiveness of anti-platelet drugs," Teitel added.
The company is also preparing to submit a 510(k) application to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clearance.
