Aethlon Medical, a developer of therapeutic filtration devices to address infectious diseases and cancer, has appointed Jim Frakes, senior vice president of finance, as chief financial officer.

Prior to joining Aethlon, Frakes served as the chief financial officer for four public companies over a period of 16 years.

Aethlon chief executive officer James Joyce said that over the last two years, Frakes has become a trusted and important member of the Aethlon Medical team and is now appropriate to expand his role as they plan new clinical programs and strategically advance technology applications of their Hemopurifier and other pipeline products.

Frakes said that he was excited to take on this additional responsibility at this pivotal time in the development of Aethlon Medical and he looks forward to guiding Aethlon with its growing clinical programs and its commercialisation opportunities.
