The acquisition will expand the national presence of Advancing Eyecare in ophthalmic instrumentation and is expected to bolster its offerings to vision care providers
Eyecare instruments provider Advancing Eyecare (AEC) has acquired US-based ophthalmic equipment distributor Veatch Ophthalmic Instruments for an undisclosed price.
Based in Arizona, Veatch Ophthalmic Instruments supplies ophthalmic technology to eye care professionals all over the US.
The deal is expected to broaden the product and service offerings of Veatch Ophthalmic Instruments and Advancing Eyecare to their combined customers and benefit from synergistic growth opportunities.
Based in Florida, Advancing Eyecare has seven brands in eyecare instrumentation. It is said to provide a one-stop solution for ophthalmic equipment and services to independent eye care practitioners, hospitals, national chains, and teaching institutions.
The firm has a technical sales force and equipment service team to support customers in running a vision care practice.
Advancing Eyecare CEO Brad Staley said: “As we continually evaluate opportunities to scale our business and enhance how we serve customers, we are thrilled to welcome Veatch Ophthalmic Instruments to the AEC family of brands.
“Veatch has built a tremendous reputation over the last 30 years, centered around a commitment to customer satisfaction and improvement of patient outcomes.
“Their product and service offerings, complemented by a service-oriented team, make them a natural partner to add to AEC.”
Advancing Eyecare is owned by US-based private investment firm Cornell Capital, which acquired it in May 2022 from Atlantic Street Capital for an undisclosed price.
The ophthalmic instruments said that the acquisition of Veatch Ophthalmic Instruments will further strengthen its position in the eyecare instruments area.
Veatch Ophthalmic Instruments president Kyna Veatch said: “We are excited to partner with Advancing Eyecare to further broaden our product portfolio and expand our reach as part of a larger company.
“We believe our unique approach will help strengthen our combined brands and create significant value for our customers and the patients they serve.
“We look forward to working with the talented AEC team, who shares our customer-first mindset, in delivering the highest standard of service and ophthalmic technology across the U.S.”
