This significant investment will allow patients across Atlanta to benefit from the highest resolution real-time targeted prostate biopsies with either micro-ultrasound or with micro-ultrasound / MRI fusion.

“Advanced Urology is one of the fastest expanding urology practices in North America due to the excellence of our expert urologists, our intense focus on the patient experience, and our investment in the newest technologies to assist in our delivery of the highest quality patient care”, says Dr. Jitesh Patel, Urologic Surgeon and President and CEO of Advanced Urology.  “Our acquisition of the ExactVu/FusionVu high resolution micro-ultrasound systems will allow our urologists across our multiple locations to leverage high-resolution imaging to actually visualize suspicious regions, and then target their prostate biopsies in real-time. We believe this is the most powerful imaging technology available and will allow our urologists to provide the highest standard of care to our patients”.

Dr. A. Dev Mally, Urologic Oncologist at Advanced Urology, adds “After an extensive assessment of available technologies, we believe the ExactVu micro-ultrasound system is state-of-the-art in terms of targeted biopsy solutions. Our urologists can now get even more accurate biopsies using the highest resolution modalities to enable the fastest, most detailed imaging of the prostate. We are especially happy to have performed the first FusionVu micro-ultrasound/MRI fusion-guided biopsy in Atlanta and will be performing thousands more micro-ultrasound targeted biopsies annually as we aim to best screen for and detect prostate cancer.”

“We are proud that Advanced Urology has chosen the ExactVu / FusionVu platform to enable their extensive workload of targeted biopsies across their multiple practices,” says Randy AuCoin, Exact Imaging’s President and CEO. “The ExactVu micro-ultrasound system provides the highest real-time resolution for targeted prostate biopsies and through this progressive urology practice, patients in Atlanta can now have access to micro-ultrasound for their prostate biopsies.”
