Advanced Medical Systems, a distribution partner of Mazor Robotics in India, has ordered Mazor's Renaissance surgical robotic system, which enables surgeons to conduct spine surgeries in an accurate and secure manner.

The company said after receiving the order, it will supply the Renaissance system to Chennai-based Apollo Hospitals for installation.

AMS is involved in providing multi-disciplinary solutions and supplying medical products to medical centers across the Asia Pacific region.

Apollo Hospitals chief spine surgeon Sajan K Hegde said, "The technology is truly revolutionary and will be a vital tool in performing safely, with precision challenging cases requiring complex reconstruction, besides the routine and minimal invasive procedures."

Mazor CEO Ori Hadomi said the introduction of the company’s Renaissance system in India marks the first active system in Asia.

"We are delighted to work with Advanced Medical Systems and Apollo Hospitals Chennai, a pioneer in this region," Hadomi added.

"The hospital’s dedication to providing cutting-edge medical care is well established, and we are pleased that our technology will contribute to improved care and outcomes for its patients."
