Wound care and regenerative medicine firm Acelity has expanded its wound care portfolio with the introduction of new Tielle foam dressing line in the US.

The new Tielle line includes seven products, which will be used in the treatment of chronic and acute wounds. They will meet the needs of healthcare professionals, including exudate management and reduced pain for the patient at dressing removal.

Tilelle hydropolymer dressings, including silicone border and non-adhesive, feature Liqualock advanced absorption technology that locks fluid away to prevent leakage and maceration.

The combination of fluid absorption and moisture vapor transfer rate (MVTR) enables these dressings to maintain a moist wound healing environment.

Tielle silicone border dressings were developed to manage a range of exudate levels in partial or full thickness wounds, while Tielle non-adhesive is a low profile dressing that supports patient comfort and may be cut to size.

Tielle Essential foam dressings have been designed to absorb moderate to heavy exudates, and helps in maintaining a moist healing environment to aid in the healing process for chronic and acute wounds.

Different Tielle Essential dressings include non-adhesive and heel, border, silicone border, silicone border sacrum and silicone.

Acelity president and CEO Joe Woody said: "Our goal was to reinvigorate the range of proven Tielle dressings and introduce it to clinicians here in the US who are seeking effective solutions for all patients, including the most compromised.

"We aim to strengthen our partnership with nurses and physicians by broadening our platform to include an extensive range of dressings, advancements in negative pressure technology and new innovations designed to help speed healing for patients and reduce the overall cost of care."
