US-based 3D Systems and radiation therapy solutions provider Klarity have agreed on the distribution of the former’s US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared VSP Bolus solution.
VSP Bolus is designed to deliver 3D-printed, patient-specific, biocompatible boluses, that are capable of increasing therapy modulation, cut down on technician time, and improve the comfort of patients.
Under the partnership, Klarity will offer VSP Bolus within its range of radiotherapy solutions that includes Klarity Prints line, a new line of patient-specific 3D printed products.
Powered by 3D Systems, Klarity Prints is a service-based range of 3D-printed radiotherapy accessories that does not need specialised software or hardware, which allows radiotherapy professionals to focus on patient care.
The partnership will expand the access of the 3D-printed solution in radiation clinics across the US and Canada.

According to 3D Systems, the established workflow utilises patient treatment plans made by radiation professionals. It relieves clinicians from the time-consuming effort of manipulating items in specialist software and building the accessory themselves.
The Klarity Prints VSP Bolus product is 3D printed from a soft, biocompatible material that is said to conforms to the patient’s anatomy to enhance the treatment experience for both patients and healthcare professionals.
