Identigene, a Sorenson Genomics company, has made DNA Paternity Test Kit available in pharmacies in New York, allowing people to purchase it through a New York retail outlet and also in Duane Reade locations.
The Identigene DNA Paternity Test Kit is convenient, less costly ($29.99) and produce quick results.
The complete service, which includes the laboratory fee, physician authorization and collection witness fee, will cost customers approximately $300, hundreds of dollars less than the traditional paternity testing process.
Identigene executive director Steve Smith said there is a solution for New Yorkers seeking a fast and certain answer to their paternity question–and it reduces the cost by about two-thirds.
"Results are typically available in three days and can be viewed online by the physician and customer through a login ID and password," Smith said.
