Strathspey Crown Holdings subsidiary Alphaeon has acquired Rocol, which supplies medical equipment across Latin America.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Based in Barranquilla of Colombia, Rocol offers products, services, and medical equipment in the fields of ophthalmology, dermatology, aesthetics, oncology and robotics.

The company distributes medical equipment across Latin America, Brazil and the Caribbean Islands.

Alphaeon CEO Robert Grant said: "Rocol is a well-respected and recognized leader in the commercialization of medical equipment in ophthalmology and aesthetics across Latin America.

Rocol president Roberto Garcia said: "We believe Alphaeon’s social commerce platform, practice management suite and broad product portfolio will allow us to offer greater value to our customers."

In this month, Alphaeon has also completed the acquisition of US-based commercial stage medical device firm, Lensar.

Established in 2004, Lensar produces Femtosecond lasers systems (FLS) through its wholly owned subsidiary.

In December 2014, Alphaeon acquired Canada-based Clarion Medical Technologies, for around $55m.

Founded in 1989, Clarion supplies medical and aesthetic equipment and consumables for hospitals and private practices in Canada.
