York Instruments has partnered with eemagine in magnetoencephalography (MEG)-electroencephalography (EEG) instrumentation and software development.
The companies will develop high performance integrated solutions to study human electromagnetic brain activity using MEG and EEG for research and clinical diagnostics.
MEG and EEG are non-invasive measurement techniques that can explain neuronal activities human cortex with great temporal and spatial detail.
The combination also plays an important role in presurgical evaluation of epilepsy patients. It is also used to study other neurodegenerative disorders, like Alzheimer's.
According to York Instruments, the partnership will enable it to offer its users with high resolution EEG measurements and clinical analysis software, which complements its MEG solutions.
York Instruments' president James R Petite said: "The collaboration with eemagine GmbH is an important milestone toward the upcoming release of York Instruments' MEGSCAN complete package solution."
