Medline Industries, a manufacturer of healthcare products, has introduced wheelchair with Microban antimicrobial protection technology.
The Microban technology provides protection against bacteria, mold and mildew which causes stains, odors and product deterioration.
The new Excel XW wheelchair includes a painted frame, pushrims,surfaces, tires, upholstery, and other contact surfaces which all are infused with Microban technology.
The Medline wheelchairs with Microban protection also feature arm pads that adjust between desk length and full length position with the push of a button.
The wheelchair has a seat size of 22 wide by 18 depth, a weight capacity of 500 lbs and a detachable, elevating footrest.
Medline Durable Medical Equipment Division president Rich Derks said by incorporating Microban antimicrobial technology, they are making a promise to customers that their wheelchairs provide continuous, durable and effective antimicrobial protection.
