Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson company, has acquired the US-based SterilMed which is into reprocessing and remanufacturing of single-use medical devices.

Post-acquisition SterilMed will continue to operate as a standalone entity aiming to grow its presence in the single-use medical device reprocessing market.

Endo-Surgery Company Group Chairman and Worldwide Franchise Chairman Karen Licitra said both the companies will strive to meet the growing demand for reprocessing, and medical devices for clinicians.

Meanwhile, SterilMed has appointed Mike Gustafson as the company president who will succeed Brian Sullivan.

Gustafson will head the SterilMed’s operating management team.
