Stryker has introduced a new fully visible clot removal device, Trevo ProVue Retriever, designed to provide treatment benefits to patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Stryker neurovascular division president Mark Paul said Trevo ProVue sets a new standard in stent retriever technology.

"It’s the first fully visible device allowing physicians to visualize placement, clot interaction and retrieval – that can make a big difference in patient treatment," Paul added.

University Hospital of Cologne neuroradiology head Liebig said, "Trevo ProVue Retriever’s full visibility provides a significant clinical benefit."

Oregon Health & Science University Dotter Interventional Institute neuroradiology, neurology, neurosurgery professor Gary Nesbit said using the device, the clinicians can able to see how a device interacts with the clot within the vessel, and demonstrates an underlying stenosis.

"This gives me better information for clinical decisions and potentially increases the chance for better outcomes for my patients," Nesbit added.
