Sequent Medical wins CE mark for VIA Microcatheter

The European Union has granted CE mark to Sequent Medical's VIA Microcatheter, which is available in VIA and the VIA PLUS models.

The VIA Microcatheter is designed for the delivery and deployment of the company’s low porosity intrasaccular neurovascular embolization device.

Featuring endovascular embolic coils, the WEB Aneurysm Embolization system treats cerebral aneurysms as well as promotes rapid, peri-procedural stasis.

Klinikum Vest radiology and interventional neuroradiology department head Werner Weber said, "The VIA Microcatheter provides an optimal combination of properties for stable WEB placement, retrieval and navigability and will enable physicians to treat a broader range of aneurysm with the WEB."
