Concentric Medical’s Merci Retriever Gets Japanese Approvals

The Merci Retriever is a medical device used to remove cerebral blood clots from patients suffering ischemic stroke. Portions of the device use a hydrophilic coating to ease entry in and out of the neurovasculature.

Shonin approval of the Merci Retriever, Merci Microcatheter, and Merci Balloon Guide Catheter was received on May 4th, 2010.
