Zynex, a US-based medical device company, has obtained marketing approval from the Russia's Federal Service on Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor) for its NeuroMove stroke recovery device and NexWave electrotherapy device.

NexWave, an electrotherapy treatment device, is capable of delivering the modalities of traditional TENS, interferential and neuromuscular electrical stimulation. The combined modalities of the NexWave provide a wide variety of pain and muscle rehabilitation therapies through one device.

NeuroMove device assists in teaching healthy parts of the brain after a stroke to take over lost functionality through neuroplasticity. According to Zynex, NeuroMove is significantly more sensitive than most diagnostic equipment.

The device monitors muscle activity and selects signals from the brain indicating that the patient is attempting to move a certain muscle.

Through electrical stimulation, the device then introduces the actual movement. Eventually the connection between the brain and muscle can often be reestablished.

NeuroMove can also used in the treatment of spinal cord injuries.
