WaveTec Vision, a provider in wavefront-guided custom cataract surgery, has upgraded and introduced an unlimited-use pricing model for the ORange intraoperative wavefront aberrometer.
Wavefront custom cataract aberrometry with ORange is a breakthrough in modern cataract surgery and the technology has been clinically proven to increase accuracy and improve refractive outcomes, WaveTec Vision said.
WaveTec’s v2.6 software for ORange includes more than 20 new functions, with special focus on accuracy updates and data sharing.
Improvements to the post-refractive intra-ocular lens (IOL) power calculation algorithm and a warning to the user when a measurement is not consistent with the preoperative biometry of the patient are some of the new features.
WaveTec CEO Tom Frinzi said that with ORange, cataract surgeons can now validate their lens power calculations and manage astigmatism during surgery so they can precisely predict and customize how their patients will see following the procedure.
