VWR International has entered into an agreement to distribute Illumina's qPCR products in the US.
The products include Eco real-time PCR instrument, designed to perform any qPCR application directly on their bench top, and NuPCR probe-based qPCR technology for providing improved specificity and sensitivity to complex gene targets.
Illumina’s molecular biology and PCR business senior vice president and general manager Mark Lewis said, "We are very excited to join forces with VWR to accelerate adoption of our qPCR portfolio, particularly into the pharmaceutical and industrial markets where VWR has a strong presence."
VWR International management life sciences vice president Bill Molnar said Illumina’s qPCR portfolio adds value to the company’s existing PCR solutions portfolio.

"The addition of the Eco System and NuPCR reagents provides an essential element to our product line, empowering us to effectively support key customer segments."
