US-based medical device firm Varian Medical Systems will exhibit its new X-ray imaging solutions at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) Annual Meeting in Vienna, Austria, which is being held from 4 to 8 March.

The company will showcase the imaging solutions, including X-ray tube housings, flat-panel digital image detectors, and image processing software products, developed for manufacturers of mammography, fluoroscopy, angiography, cardiology and cone-beam CT imaging systems.

Varian Imaging Components sales and marketing vice-president Carl LaCasce said: "This year’s exhibit shows our commitment to the industry’s demands for technically advanced X-ray components.

"With our new X-ray tubes, detectors and imaging software bundles, we can offer our customers, who are manufacturers of X-ray imaging systems, a full imaging chain that provides them with an expedited path to new product development for the global market."

The products being showcased include B-121 mammography housing developed for digital mammography and tomography applications. The air-cooled housing is available in two shroud configurations, including with D/C fans or without fans.

The company will also exhibit the PaxScan 3024M flat panel X-ray image detector, developed for full field digital mammography (FFDM) and Nexus Digital Imaging Software. It can process both DR and RF images from PaxScan digital detectors on a single platform.

In addition, the company will showcase additional imaging components developed for space efficiency and high performance.
