The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted a new patent to DR Systems for transferring medical data to electronic medical records (EMRs).
The US Patent No. 7,953,614 includes a smart placement module which automatically selects and forwards components of received medial data such as medical reports and image montages to one or more secondary location such as an EMR system.
The smart placement module also transmits a patient identification file that is usable by the receiving EMR system to allow the EMR system to associate received medical data with other data regarding a respective patient.
The receiving user and other authorized EMR system users will have access to the medical data via their respective connections to the EMR system.
