ulrich medical USA, a privately-held subsidiary of German-based ulrich medical, has introduced a spinal implant device, the uCerv Interbody System, into the US market.
The uCerv Interbody System is indicated for use in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) surgical procedures (C2-C7).
The device comprises trapezoidal shaped implants with parallel or lordotic configuration of varying heights (5mm-12mm) and sizes including 14×12, 15×13, 17×14 and a specialty XL sizing option of 19×16.
Made from radiolucent PEEK OPTIMA material, all the implants have a tapered bullet tip that facilitates ease of insertion and distraction.
Further to limit migration, the implants feature optimal teeth patterns on the superior and inferior surfaces besides a large central core, facilitating the use of maximum bone graft material.
ulrich medical USA sales and marketing vice president Erika Laskey said the company released the uCerv family of implants to the US market in response to demand from surgeons for additional treatment options.
"With the addition of uCerv to our product portfolio for degenerative spine applications, we now offer a complete and superior hardware solution for spine surgeons who perform ACDF procedures," Laskey added.
