UC Irvine Medical Center has selected iSirona's device connectivity solution to automate device data collection and conduct research.
UC Irvine will utilize iSirona’s solution to connect medical devices to its Allscripts EMR and export data to its research database.
UC Irvine Medical Center informatics solution architect Charles Boicey said iSirona’s solution can deliver data in minute or sub-minute intervals.
"Now, we’ll have the capability to provide clinicians with what they want in the EMR — accurate, timely patient data — and we’ll gain data for research," Boicey added.
"Being able to bring in and store vast amounts of data in real time holds promise for things like the early detection of sepsis — something we may be able to identify earlier in a monitored environment."
